Slow-Cooked Pork Chops

Tender and flavorful pork chops cooked slowly in a savory sauce until they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika


Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker


Arrange seasoned pork chops on top of onions and garlic


In a small bowl, mix together chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme


Pour the sauce mixture over the pork chops


Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until pork chops are tender


Serve hot, spooning some of the sauce over the pork chops

Cinnamon Raisin Bagels

These homemade cinnamon raisin bagels are a delightful treat that will fill your home with a warm, comforting aroma. Perfectly sweet and chewy, they are great for breakfast or as a snack with your favorite spread.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet active dry yeast

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup raisins

  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

  • Cornmeal for dusting

  • Boiling water for poaching

Instructions:

In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy


In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon


Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms


Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic


Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size


Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins until evenly distributed


Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into bagels


Make a hole in the center of each bagel


Preheat your oven to 375F 190C


Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a tablespoon of sugar


Reduce to a simmer


Poach the bagels in the simmering water for 1-2 minutes per side


Place the poached bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with cornmeal


Brush the bagels with beaten egg for a shiny crust


Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 ounces of prosciutto

  • 8-10 ounces of salami

  • 8-10 ounces of chorizo

  • 8-10 ounces of brie cheese

  • 8-10 ounces of aged cheddar cheese

  • 8-10 ounces of gouda cheese

  • 1 cup of mixed olives

  • 1 cup of mixed nuts almonds, cashews, and walnuts

  • 1/2 cup of fig jam

  • 1/2 cup of honey

  • 1/2 cup of whole grain mustard

  • 1 baguette, sliced

  • Fresh grapes

  • Fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs

Instructions:

Set up a big platter or board made of wood to be the base of your grazing board


Put some small bowls or ramekins on the board to start


Put honey in one, fig jam in another, and whole grain mustard in the third


Put the prosciutto, salami, and chorizo on the board in a nice pattern by folding and stacking them

Toasted Peanut Butter S'more Cookies

With these toasted peanut butter s'more cookies, you can indulge in the delectable combination of peanut butter, chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. A delicious treat for peanut butter and s'mores fans!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

  • 8 graham cracker squares, broken into pieces

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet


Put the peanut butter and sugar in a bowl and mix them together until the mixture is smooth


Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well mixed


Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl


Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them in until they are just combined


The chocolate chips should be carefully mixed in


Place dough balls about the size of a tablespoon on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving space between each one


Press a few mini marshmallows gently onto the top of each piece of cookie dough


After the oven is hot, bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden


When you take the cookies out of the oven, press graham cracker pieces right on top of them while they're still soft


Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 can 14

  • 5 oz diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup vegetable broth

  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, minced

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 cups fresh spinach leaves

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving

Instructions:

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat


Add diced onion and saut until translucent, about 5 minutes


Add minced garlic and diced red bell pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes


Stir in black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, minced chipotle pepper, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper


Bring the stew to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, allowing flavors to meld


Add fresh spinach leaves and lime juice to the stew, stirring until spinach wilts


Adjust seasoning if necessary


Serve hot over cooked rice or quinoa, garnished with fresh cilantro
